Hello All,
I have reinstalled everything from the start as my 60GB disk had recently
crashed.
It has turned out that svgalib v1.9.17 doesn't cause any problem
on my Matrox Millennium G400.
It runs now flawlessly!
I would recommend all to challenge this newer version.
You can get the source from http://www.arava.co.il/matan/svgalib/ .
(Thanks Roger!)
On Redhat, you have to make compiler happy where 'ldconfig' is located.
What I did was ... 'ln -s /sbin/ldconfig /bin/ldconfig'.
There must be another way too.
And also you must load the module like Conrad wrote;
"cd /usr/local/src/svgalib-1.7.19/kernel/svgalib_helper
insmod svaglib_helper.o"
These things could be done by somehow at the system boot.
