Linrad-02.08 only works when you have selected 
256 colours for your X server. I do not understand 
the error messages you report but presumably you
did not observe my posting about this.

Other importand bugs in 02-08 :
Screen does not refresh often enough if fft2 is 
enabled. Affects Win and X11 but not svgalib.

Resizing the high resolution graph (red dB scale)
may cause segfaults (all operating systems)

These bugs are corrected in what will become
Linrad-02.09. There is one more problem which
I can see only on the laptop. The AC97 soundcard
gives a very large DC offset which is not treated
properly by Linrad and causes strong interferences
if the second fft is enabled and the laptop is
not run in I/Q mode. I do not quite understand the
mechanism, but I will try to eliminate this problem
also in Linrad-02.09. 

In the meantime maybe some bug reports will point
to other problems that could also be solved in 
02-09.
