Stan:

a .tbz file is a tar ball. Change the name to lir01-08.tar.bz2 and run bunzip2 on it.

Then it is a tar file. tar tf lir01-08.tar should give you its contents.

Alternatively, change the name to lir01-08.tbz2 and run

tar tjf lir01-08.tbz2

and see if you get the contents.

Both programs exist (bzip2,bunzip2). They have the following path file:/usr/bin

My linrad has this path file:/root/mnt/floppy/lir01-08tbz
