   Yes, I am very much interested in that mixer! If you can put that on
a 
   web page with installation instructions that would be great and
   I am sure others would be interested in that as well. 
   The AC97 can be found on many motherboards these days and I am sure
   others would like to learn about how to handle this as well.
  
   There is all this confusion about the ALSA package at least in my
mind.
   Besides that, I understand that ALSA is going to be part of the
standard
   LINUX distributions shortly.

   Then on the other hand, the AC97 in my machine is using the ALSA
driver
   already! Though I do not have used the mixer to configure the AC97

   If it was not for this particular problem, the loading and
installation
   of LINRAD in its basic mode could be done in less than 30 minutes
   Linux install, vgalib, nasm,  included and users could experience it.
