Forgot to mention ( .... and to report on the procedure !! ) before 
launching ."/xlinrad "you should put "sudo". As an alternative if you do not 
like to type "sudo" all the time, you can put " sudo -s" and you become root 
and you will be able to do everything .... of course need to be careful !!
