Hi All,
I have happily been using FTP to move files between
computers although I have only been able to get it
running on a few systems. (Red Hat 9 and Debian Etch)
After upgrading Debian I can no longer FTP.
This is the message:
500 OOPS: cannot locate user entry:ftpsecure
The file /etc/vsftpd.config is unchanged so something
else must have been changed. Presumably ftpsecure
is related to this part of /etc/vsftp.conf:
# It is recommended that you define on your system a unique user which the
# ftp server can use as a totally isolated and unprivileged user.
nopriv_user=ftpsecure
#
The user is still defined, I can (of course) log in on the computer
via its keyboard.
I would like vsftp to give me full access to the
file system on as many Linux distributions as possible.
I can not use RedHat 9 because its USB driver does not
work with the PIV hardware so I now have to carry
floppies around to test various things relating to
the SDR-14 on other systems.
I did search the Internet, but after reading a lot
of things meaning nothing to me I now try the Linrad
list for assistance. Any ideas?
