[linrad] Re: Linux Strikes Again
I installed Red Hat 8 a while back from the boxed CD's specifically for
Linrad. That install was no more difficult than a Windows 2000 install
(in some respects, it was easier). The end product was at least equal to
my Win2K machine in functional capabilities and ease-of-use - including
office apps, generic programming tools, GUI, etc. The joy was that it
only cost me $90 and about an hour of my time. I didn't need to go out
and buy $3000 worth of extra software and spend hours fighting the Windows
installer to equal my Win2K machine.
Which do I use? Both. There is one specialized app that I use at work
that only exists in the Windows & HP-UX environments, so I don't have a
choice. If I did, I'd go Linux all the way.
There...I've said my piece.
