Hi Ron,

I started recently  with similar experiments aiming at building a simple
front end for Linrad with 40 Khz of radio spectrum in the  20 M band.
For that purpose I bought two weeks ago a board from Expanded Spectrum
Systems (ESS ) and a R2PRO kit from Kanga.
Both systems contain the building blocks you described.
Currently I only have the ESS solution up and running.
You can find a detailed description of this ESS solution with Linrad at the
website of Roger W3SZ.
My R2PRO-kit is still under construction.
