A Short Visit to the Haystack Observatory June 1998.

Although I have been in Boston many times and was aware of a large facility somewhere north of the city, I had never searched how to get there.

This time though, after doing some homework on the WEB, I found the way to this very interesting place.

The site is another Major Radio Scienctific well as optical astronomy facility.

During this short visit on a weekend, my real interest was in the 200 ft reflector, used for radar measurements. I made a number of pictures of different sections of this UHF reflecting surface.

Both this antenna and the 150 ft dish are still in daily use for Ionospheric Measurements and Research.

This page is under construction, but will be finished shortly.
