See http://207.5.45.45 This provides 12 kHz IF bandwidth output which is the input to the Delta 44 sound card. To obtain a full 12 kHz bandwidth, the TS-2000 must be in AM mode. If used in USB mode the bandwidth is 5 kHz. In CW mode the bandwidth is 2 kHz. TEXT: I use a IC-746 as an exciter for the 8877 amp. Once a target signal is found in Linrad, I have Linrad processing 12Khz of IF output from a modified TS-2000. It plays very well using W3SZ's recently posted WCW and SSB parms with the exception that I am using 48K sample rate input and 8K sample rate output. My hardware config is posted in the user data bank but basically consists of a 2.4Ghz chip, 512Meg of ram, Delta 44, SB16, OSS drivers, RH9.0 I am copying very very weak CW beacons never before possible. The binaural mode to me is incredible. The dumb noise blanker is magic (smart not yet calibrated). I live on the edge of a metroplex with a population of 4.5 million and full of industry. I still need another 1000 hours to re-read everything and try to better use the application but I wanted to ask this question now. To get a rough idea of S/N for the arriving target signal, is it safe to simply compare the middle S meter value to the bottom S meter value (subtract the values) and is this value in decibels? I have read the definitions for these items and I understand what Leif says to do with a 1Khz sample to determine noise floor but is this shortcut valid? Jim, KM5PO, EM12ko TS-2000 mod, etc I put the IC-746 in Tune mode which causes a very low level signal output. This signal is used to zero beat the target signal in Linrad. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
