This is a Toshiba Tecra 8000 notebook.  Linrad works except I have to use 800x600 
screen resolution, using 1024x768 results in the lower half of the screen being black.
This setup survives console switching.

This is a good laptop for linux, I've gotten everything to work, even the winmodem!
